Jeremy Wade Chance, D.D.S., P.A.
Dr. Chance grew up in a small town in East Texas called Waskom, Texas. (Pop. 1800) After graduating from Waskom High School with Honors, he attended Stephen F. Austin (SFA) State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Dr. Chance graduated Magna Cum Laude from SFA with a Major in Biology and Minor in Chemistry. After receiving his degree, Dr. Chance worked in the dental field for two years as a dental assistant before attending dental school.
Dr. Chance received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch. While attending the Dental Branch, he was involved with many student government organizations and represented the student body and institution in numerous leadership positions. Dr. Chance served as President of the UT Dental Branch Class of 2004, Vice President of the Student Intercouncil representing 3,000 professional students from the six UT Health Science Center Institutions (Dental Branch, Medical Branch, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, School of Biomedical Science, and the School of Health Informatics).
Dr. Chance established the American Student Dental Association's first national outreach program called "Medisend". Medisend was created in an effort to distribute some of the over 4 billion dollars worth of medical surplus to those in need. Most of this surplus is desperately needed in developing countries. However, most of the surplus is cast away in landfills. Medisend is a student led effort to use this surplus for the greater good on Mission Trips around the world by medical, dental, and nursing students and faculty.
His senior year Dr. Chance served as the President of the University of Texas System Student Advisory Council representing all 15 University of Texas components in the State of Texas. In this role, Dr. Chance represented over 180,000 professional, graduate, and undergraduate students. While President, Dr. Chance established the first University of Texas System-Wide Outreach project known as "United To Serve". The goal of "United To Serve" was to bring together students, faculty, and staff in a common goal of giving back to the citizens of the local communities that support each UT Component. "United To Serve" was adopted by UT Chancellor Yudof and is now an anual event throughout Texas.
Since graduating in 2004, Dr. Chance has practiced at two of the most esteemed practices in the city of Houston. At Unicare Dental Group, Dr. Chance had the opportunity to oversee an entire cosmetic practice. At Tippit and Schleicher Dental Group, Dr. Chance had an opportunity to work alongside Dr. Nathaniel Tippit, past President of the State Board of Dental Examiners.
As a private practitioner, Dr. Chance and his staff are dedicated to providing the highest quality dental care to all Houstonians. We invite you to come and join our family here at DENTAL ASSOCIATES of Houston.
